A teaser from Dr. Ivan Lerner

Today, I had a quick chat with Dr. Ivan Lerner, who will be a speaker at The Living Well Expo on Sunday, July 28th at the BMH-BJ Synagogue. The expo hours are 10-4 and Dr. Lerner is scheduled from 3:30-4:00. He is sought out for his take on interpersonal relationships with our kids and their kids.

New Guidelines for Aspirin

For decades, a daily dose of aspirin was considered an easy way to prevent a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular event.

Then came a string of recent studies challenging that assumption. With this latest research in mind, a new set of guidelines to help people stay heart-healthy is advising against daily aspirin use for prevention. It may actually cause more harm than good.

Developing language skills

As your toddler’s speech and language skills develop there are activities that you can do at home to that can help enhance your child’s speech and language skills.

  1. Reading

Read books to your toddler every night.  This is something that can be integrated into your nightly bedtime routine.  As you read the story ask questions related to the book and have your child identify the objects in pictures.  This will also help improve vocabulary. [Read more…]
